Very nice, clean boards with just a tiny flat crease to lower front corner. Pages and page edges pristine. Jacket is likewise clean with just a small bit of wear to top corners and a small bit at crown and tail of spine. Looks most handsome in brand new mylar. Price-clipped, but another price written small in pen at top of front endflap. Oversized book measures 9"x12" and has 373 pages. Text is very detailed and plentiful and is augmented by 276 plates, 16 of which are in full color. Excellent resource.

Very nice, clean book with no names or writing. Pages pristine, as are page edges. Mild wear confined to upper corners only. One of 2500 casebound copies, but SLIPCASE IS NOT PRESENT. Oversized at 8-1/2"x11-1/2". Handsome blue boards show printing and pictorial in bright gilt at face. Illustrated nicely on quality paper with both art and photogrpahs in black and white. Painstaking detail gleaned primarily from primary resourecs which debunk old myths. 230 pages.

At first glance it may seem a trifle, but this magical little booklet is lovely and offers insight, warmth and entertainment in its lengthy narrative by antique clothing collector and illustrator, Charles W. Stewart who developed a lifelong passion for antique women's clothing after seeing a doll in the window of a shop at the age of five. Stewart was also a dancer for a time, as well as an art teacher. After the death of his parents he inherited their home, Shambellie House, and gave it to Royal Scottish Museum for the development of a museum of costume. Book is illustrated throughout with small paintings in color. 32 delightful pages in clean, tightly bound condition. Only fault is tiny spot to outer edge of front cover. Measures 6"x8-1/2"
