1 Carroll, Colleen How Artists See Cities: Streets Buildings Shops Transportation
New York, New York, U.S.A. Abbeville Kids 1999 0789201879 / 9780789201874 Third Printing Hard Cover Fine Fine 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
Crisp, as new book. Library edition but NOT an ex-lib. Absolutely pristine. We love the Abbeville Kids art books in this series and this one is no exception. No only does it impart information about artists and their interpretations of cities, but it also provides activities and questions that open doors to new understanding of how art is made. The art is in full color and just beautiful throughout. This one's a keeper. Measures 8-1/2"x9"

Very nice clean booklet in the German language about Japanese art. I ran the title through Google translation, but it came out The Seven Glucksgotters. The only way I would know what this booklet is about is the photos and drawings of various art items from Japan. The booklet measures 7-1/4" x 10-1/4" and has 41 pages, most of which are at the back of the booklet

Harvey Dinnerstein Artist At Work, Dinnerstein, Harvey
3 Dinnerstein, Harvey Harvey Dinnerstein Artist At Work
New York Watson Guptill 1979 0823022102 / 9780823022106 First Printing Hard Cover Very Good Very Good Folio - over 12 Dinnerstein, Hervey
This is not just a book about Harvey Dinnerstein and his artistic work, it's also Harvey Dinnerstein sharing his techniques with would-be artists. He discusses drawings, oil painting, the studio, evolving pictorial ideas, the work in progress, and more. The best of all though is the "Work In Prrogress" for which he paints a simple image and changes it by aplying a new process to the work. And then there's another change and another one until all become steps to get to the last and most beautiful picture..The book has been nicely cared for -- I bought it from the estate of a local artist who had it for almost 30 years. The only defect I see is a few light flat creases to the upper front corner of the dustjacket, but it hardly shows in the new-ooking mylar cover it came in.. The book is clean with no names or writing, no price-clip, and no bumps to pristine cloth binding. Book measures 9" x 12" with 144 pages including 80 pages of color and 58 black and white.

Illustrated in black and white with the exception of one article which has a small piece of marbeled paper tipped-in. Articles include Marbling in Bee Sheva, Israel; the 19th Century Marbler; Alum & Its Use in Paper Marbling; Part I: Historical Material; Paper Surface Finish; Demystifying the Business Aspects of Art; How I Met the Marbling Muse on the Road to Immortality; Marbling With Oil Base Inks vol. 7 Sabin, Peter; Williams, Gerry (editors) Studio Potter Journal Volume Eight, Number One (June 1979)
Goffstown, New Hampshire The Daniel Clark Foundation 1979 olume Eight, No. 1 Soft Cover Very Good Condition Oblong
Studio Potter Journal which is at least 40 years old. It was only published twice a year. This is the first one for 1979. What's interesting about this one is two articles with photographs of the artist, Bernard Leach, a potter from Great Britain. The first article is "Bernard Leach 1887-1979: Towards A Standard" and the second is "Bernard Leach Two Recollections". The first one can be removed and opened up to reveal on the back a full two page poster image of Leach. Other topics are copper red glazes, producing brilliant copper reds in glass, copper red salt vapor glazes and a lot more about red copper. There are also cameos of various potters, their work, and their surroundings. The booklet measures 8-1/2" x 10-1/4" and has 78 pages with many black and white illustrations. The only faults are a bit of sunning to the spine and a small stain to the back cover. Overall very nice
