3 Catalog of the Art School of the Art Institute of Chicago 1929-1930
Chicago Art Institute of Chicago 1929 Soft Cover Very Good
Beautiful catalog, very clean with untoned pages. Measures 6"x8-1/2" and sports a nice two tone green cover with a small stylized drawing of the Art Institute on the front. Tightly bound. Only faults are a small bit of wear to bottom corners, a faint signature to front and a small crease to upper front corner which shows a tear in the picture, but I have strengthened it on the reverse side with non-browning archival tape. Catalog has 64 pages and is illustrated nicely with black and white photos of student art representing the various disciplines offered. Keith Tyson: Fractal Dice
7 Keith Tyson: Fractal Dice
New York City PaceWildenstein 2008 1930743904 / 9781930743908 Harfd Cover Fine No DJ, as Issued 4to - over 9" - 12" tall
From its notebook look to its colorful sculptures this is a very different art catalog. Keith Tyson is a British conceptual artist and winner of the Turner Prize in 2002 for his graphic art. The sculpures depicited came to light due to his curiosity about decision-makng during the creative process. The essential question was can the artist dare to take a chance on chance? Yes! And from then he went on to create a series of steps to calculate and detemine the size, sharpe, and colors of each work and then fabricate the outcome which became a "dicey" and very interestig exhibit.Catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 42 pristine pages.

8 Lee Weiss Watercolors III (SIGNED)
Madison, Wisconsin Whinchell Art Publications 1990 Soft Cover Near Fine Oblong SIGNED by Artist
Gorgeous art calatog in excellent condition. Very clean and nice with just a tiny speck of wear to tail of spine. Large size -- 11" across by 8-1/2" tall. SIGNED and inscribed by artist on title page thus, "To ....., With Best Wishes, Lee Weiss" Forty-two pages of exquisite paintings and explanatory notes. Weiss was a professor of economics at the University of Wisconsin for many years, but has also been a working artist with numerous exhibits nationwide and abroad, including France and Japan. Her awards are many and varied and she has also been commissioned by NASA and has participated in the White House Rotating Exhibit with one painting having been selected for the White House. Weiss is noted for the incredible light emanating from her work and has invented a technique of painting on both sides of the paper in watercolor and constantly turning the paper over so that the texture of the table and the paint itself is transferred. When a significant base is built up she allows it to suggest the theme. A lovely catalog of ethereal art.
