Cincinnati, Ohio The Gruen Watch Company 1948 Soft Cover Good 
Catalog is clean as a whistle inside and out, but front cover shows a few spots and a rubbed area near spine at face and a small tear to upper back edge. Measures 6"x9" and has 70 pages. Includes phtoos and descriptions of several then-new advancements in watch movements and a selection of jewels, stems and other parts, plus two pages showing drawings of discontinued models, Gruen mainspring and hairspring vibration charts, and a 24 page interchangeable material guide. Concludes with several pages on watch crystals with drawings. Material price list laid-in -- designed as four page brochure. This is without defect.

This offering consists of a very crisp large folded blueprint printed in white ink on blue showing the various parts of the clock with measurments and explanation. It is accompanied by a materials bill and construction notes, all of which are housed in original envelope from the Woodcraft Supply Corp. of Woburn, Mass. Postmarked 1976. Clock design courtesy of President and Mrs. Robert E.R. Huntley and Washington & Lee University. Originally built by Benjamin Chandler Sr. circa 1730. Also available is plan for Eli Terry Tall Clock, again drawn by Lynch and purchased from Woodcraft.

Very nice, tightly bound book with clean pages and boards. A small bit of wear to crown and tail of spine and to corners, none of which have frayed. No names or writing. A stand-alone title devoted to watch repair, but the second part of A Course In Horology published originally in England for use in the Swiss Horological Schools. No date, but appears to be from the 1940's. Illustrated throughout with instructive line drawings. Covers the following escapements: lever, pin pallet, cylinder, and detent. 125 pages. Original bookseller's "ticket" at bottom edge of front free endpaper.
