9 Bridenstine, James A. Edsel & Eleanor Ford House
Grosse Point Shores, MI Edsel & Eleanor Ford House 1988 First Printing Soft Cover Fine Oblong
What a gorgeous book this is and of interest not only to those with an eye for interior design, but also to those who collect Ford Company items and/or points of interest in Michigan. It's in absolutrely mint condition with no names or writing and pristine pages. Soft cover. Book measures 11" across and 9" tall and is printed on glossy paper with lavish illustration of the grounds and house, all done in color photographs. Also includes two vintage photos of the Ford family. The house was built on the shores on Lake St. Clair in the 1920's and resembles a series of Cotswold cottages strung together. Though grand in design, it was not built to be anything other than a family home and yet it stands as a monument to amazing architecture and design, as well as to a time of grandeur long past. The house has 60 rooms and fabulous furnishings and appointments and the book features many of them while offering commentary along the way. It's like a guided tour you can take again and again. 103 pages.
