Crisp, clean pamphlet of 35 pages measuring 4-3/4"x7-1/4". The statement at front of book says everything: " Believing in a spiritual interpretation of the universe and deriving its inspiration thereof, the National Conference exists to promote justice, amity, understanding and cooperation among Jews, Catholics and Protestants in the United States, and to analyze, moderate, and finally eliminate intergroup prejudices which disfigure and distort religious, business, social, and political relations, with a view to the establishment of social order in which the religious ideals of brotherhood and justice shall become the standards of human relationships." No date, but likely 1940's.

In addition to what is listed in title topics include donations, funds, election of officers, report of executive committee, report of Gilpin Trustees, children's lectures, librarian's report, museum accessions, publications and more. 146 pages.

Very nice, clean book sporting bright blue boards which show only minor wear including a small stain next to outer side edge at front. No cracking to hinges and no names or writing. Gilt printing to spine and handsome gilt insignia at front.rought-cut pages at side as per design, gilded top edge. Color plate at frontis from painting by Clyde O. De Land showing the raising of the first American Union flag on Prospect Hill, Somerset, Mass. January, 1, 1776. Book includes proceedings and list of members, but also records of members' Revolutionary ancestors. Useful for geneaology. 227 pages.

Tightly bound and very clean with nice beveled edge to both boards. Brown cloth shows small bit of wear to corners and to crown and tail of spine, but no cracking to hinges, either fornt or back. Pages are also very clean with very light overall foxing to two blank pages at fornt and back. Eells was a 19th century American philosopher, essayist ,and orator who founded the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity in 1832 at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. Book offers biographical information, the story of the fraternity, a copy of an address given by him at Miami University on the study of the classics, and more. 255 pages.

Also laid-in is a handwritten postcard reminding members of a first degree initiation and a big stag party, both in August, as well as a aingle sheet report from the State Chaplain and a four page oversized insert entitled "The Ohio State Knights of Columbus and the Newman Club Grant." The latter contains six photos.

7 Summer Campaign 1894 Ohio Anti-Saloon League Brochure
Columbus, Ohio Ohio Anti-Saloon League. Temperance. Prohibition Ephemera 1894 Soft Cover Very Good 
We are offering a brochure printed on both sides of a single sheet to make four pages. It was done by the Ohio Anti-Saloon League which was founded only a year prior to this in1893 in Oberlin, Ohio. The brochure advertises the Summer Campaign of 1894 featuring the Anti-Saloon Agitators, Rev. Howard J. Rusell, State Superintendent, and "those Merry Men of Song, the Aeolian Quartet of Delaware College consisting of E.A. Upham second tenor; J.B. Rogers, 1st tenor; O.O. Keoppel 2nd bass and E.W. Griffiths, firstbBass. Photos of all four on front page (quite handsome fellows!) along with a their musical repertoire including "Agitate, Keep the Ball A'Rolling", "The Saloon Must Go" and "March of Temperance." Inside pages, one each, state the positions of both the Ohio Anti-Saloon League and its foe, the Ohio State Liquor League. The back cover is a full page advertisement for a book entitled "A Lawter's Examination of the Bible" by Howard H. Russell (photo of author) who served as Auperintendent for the League. All proceeds from sales used to raise cash for the summer campaign. Brochure measures 6-1/4"x9-1/2". Light soiling to face in small areas and creasing from having been folded in fourths, but flat and smooth with no wear or tearing to same. Tiny tear to bottom edge at back only fault.

Crisp, clean, as new booklet consisting of grey card covers and eleven pages, including two full page drawings of Leathersellers' Hall. Former owner's name penciled at top front corner of first page. Text tells the story of one of the oldest Livery Guilds of London. Also accompanying this booklet is a trifold brochure produced the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers written in both French and English. This one is illustrated with four black and white photographs and two black and white works of art.

Tells the history of an obscure order founded at a hospice in Jerusalem for charity, never numbering huge membership and yet rising up to the frontier of the Christian-Muslim conflict. 245 pages. Indexed.

Burnham was an American scout and adventurer famous for his service to the British Army in colonial Africa and for teaching woodcraft to Robert Baden-Powell. The latter caused him (Burnham) to play a role in the founding of the international Scouting Movement. Illustrated throughout with maps, art and photography in black and white.370 pages.

Otherwise tightly bound with clean, bright pages.Cover shows painting of William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) to kick off part I of a long article about him. Other articles include story on baseball with action photos of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb and other greats of the day and a long piece on the Indianapolis 500. A very handsome book which is quite scarce. Green cloth boards with matching green slipscase. Only fault to all is one small errant black mark from a pen on reverse side of slipcase. Tells with colorful prose the story of The Tavern Club from the laying of its cornerstone in Cleveland on June 11, 1904 to the 21st century where at last writing it still celebrated the Y chromsome, drinking, and the Republican party. Measures 7-1/2"x11"
