Bright purple and white boards make a graphic statement on the cover of this 40's era yearbook. Former owner's name, Class of 1947, written at top corner of front free endpaper. School was then both junior high and high school, so thumbnail photos run from 7th grade through seniors. Dedicated to teacher Mary Elizabeth Amstutz with full page drawing of her. Book has not been signed by classmates or teachers and is clean inside and out with just a bit of toning to pages and a touch of corner wear. 12-1/4" tall

An excellent genealogical reference comprised of records from the Wayne County, Ohio probate court. Two volumes in one, though volumeI is the most significant at 273 pages. Volume two comprises the changes up to 1990. Bound in la sturdy light blue buckram with gilt printing.

The catalog is clean as a whistle inside and out with 28 illustrated pages. Picures are large and the products displayed optimally and accompanied by detailed text.

Book is lavishly illustrated with attractive historical photographs throughout, but also contains much text. Printed in obeservation of the 100th year anniversay of the area which was celebrated August 24, 25, and 26, 1897. 200 pages, plus a lengthy index.

Very attractive, coloful cover art and relative rarity make this piece of 1929 ephemera a stand-out. The booklet was published by the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce in hopes of attracting new residents to the community located north of Akron. It's very clean and tightly bound with no glaring faults and measures 6"x9". Pages are printed on coated paper and illustrated throughout with black and white photographs. 27 pages cover all aspects of the town and why its real estate, amenities and low taxes made it a prime choice.

9 Dated Events War Map V-E Commemorating Victory In Europe May 8-45 (Akron Tarpaulin Company)
Coshocton, Ohio Shaw-Barton 1945 26th Edition Map Very Good 
Crisp, colorful, large map measuring 17-1/4" tall and 39" wide. Folds handily to 8-1/2"x9-3/4". Only fault is a small tear to edge repaired discreetly at back by me with archival tape. Spotlights and dates the most important events of WWII since the Munich Agreement of Sept, 30, 1938. Seems to have been a promotional item companies could purchase and have printed with their name. In this instance it was the Akron Tarpaulin Company which had the following message added, "We, the Akron Tarpaulin Company, are endeavoring ro serve you the best we can with the best merchandise we can get under wartime restrictions." Nice Ohio collectible.

10 Fifteenth Annual Report of the Chief Inspector of Mines to the Governor of the State of Ohio
Columbus, Ohio The Westbote Company, State Printers 1890 Soft Cover Good 
Book is tightly bound and clean save reisitant soiling which could not be safely removed from orange paper cover. No spine crease and clean unmarked pages which have uniformly age-toned, though not severely. Small tear to bottom font spine, lower corner missing from back cover, a small picce likewise missing from upper front corner, and small edge tears. No names or writing. Bound-in at front is a slip of paper which reads Compliments of Robert Haseltine, Chief Inspector of Mines. What makes this book so interesting is a crisp fold-out showing a mine in Hocking County and illusrtrations of equipment, of which there are six. Also includes a section on mining law in Ohio at the time of writing. Book measures 6-1/2x9-1/2" annd has 266 pages plus back matter.

Very nice, clean book spiral bound with white plastic comb to lie flat. Handsome black and white architural cover design. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos, maps, and drawings, including a pull-out map printed on bright yellow paper. Prepared for Citizens For Progress by Walker Murray & Assoc., Philadelphia, Feb. 1965. Laid-in is a Citizens For Progress Bulletin dated July 20, 1965 consisting of two pages of text and two fold-out maps. Book measures 9"x12"and has 42 pages.

Clean blue card cover printed in back with gold medallion stating the year of 1940. Tied with gold cording and tassel. Measures 5"x7-3/4" and is likewise clean inside. In addition to the usual signatures and filled-in info about the class, there is a charming array of calling cards each slipped into its own designed spot -- a total of 14. At the back there is also a special pocket for momentos in which is found a handwritten menu for the class banquet which was held at the Lake Shore Hotel. In addition to pertinent info about the event, there is also a crisp folded coaster from the hotel. This menu measures 4-1/2"x6" is covered with ribboned tied black paper featuring a cut-out design of a boat on water. The previous owner was Florence Marie Conant.

Much historical information on the country, townships, towns, schools, churches, industries etc. TWO like copies available, the second with a brown cover.

This is without question the nicest copy of this book we've seen. No cracking to hinges, no names or writing, bright gilt to all three sides of texblock and no foxing. Bound in half leather (at spine and corners) with brown pebbled boards printed in clear legible gilt at face and spine. Leather shows a wear pattern to surface in areas, but no red rot and no pieces missing. Only fault to interior is a small brown stain at upper section of the last couple pages. A very hefty county history measuring 8"x10" with 922 pages. Illustrated with potraits, plus a crisp, clean fold-out map at front.

Laid-in brochure is in full color -- four pages -- extolling the virtues of the Sherwin Williams wallpaper center. Great color photos of 60's rooms.

19 In Memoriam Honorable James C. Johnson 1818-1912 President Ohio Farmers Inurance Company
Westfield Center, Ohio Privately Printed 1912 Hard Cover Fine 
Beautiful hard cover book printed on the occasion of the death of James C, Johnson, fifth president of what was then the Ohio Farmers Insurance Company and today's Westfield Group. A former speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, Johnson served for over forty years from 1870-1912 and saw the company through several periods of economic downturn. Most memorable was that of 1891 when a sagging economy caused clients to cancel policies. Johnson responded by taking his horse and buggy and a satchel of cash on the road to pay out claims in person, an unconventional move that proved successful. The book features a crisp black and white cover with no faults of note. Portrait of Johnson at frontis. Text includes biography, funeral service (Baptist church Seville, Ohio) and remarks by officiant. Measures 8-1/4"x10-1/4"

Document conveys a property in Seneca County, Ohio from Michael and Sarah Onstine to Henry Schaum May 11, 1848. Document is hand written on legal form and sellers signed with their marks with names written by government official, R.M.C. Martin, Recorder.
