The Mystic Brotherhood University Tampa, Florida Tampa, Florida The Mystic Brotherhood University Soft Cover Very Good 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall Very scarce ephemera item from an occult group which splintered from the Rosicrucians in the late 1920's -- early 30's. There is no date, but research shows that it precedes1934 when the group was forced by the Federal Trade Commission to stop advertising itself as a university and conferring "doctor of philosophy" degrees on those who completed the course. By 1946 it had dissolved. The booklet measures 9"x11-1/4" and is handsomely produced on brown paper (paper bag color) with a strong graphic cover design. Bound with a heavy brown twine. Appears to be what was sent to would-be followers who expressed an interest in lreceiving further information. Pages to be filled out and returned are still blank and there are no names or other markings anywhere. Includes a fold-out sepia toned art work at frontis. eighteen pages describe the Wisdom School, course requirements and cost (they did have a Welfare Program), as well as an index of the Mystic Brotherhood Lectures. Sites Et Monuments De France; Bourgogne, Nivernais, Bourbonnaus, Franche-Comte (20 Vintage Postcards, Original Box) Paris Soft Cover Near Fine in Fine Box Lovely, postally unused collection of 20 vintage postcards in their original green box which is bordered in gilt with black printing to face only. There is no date, but they appear to be from the 1930's. We also believe this to be true because they were purchased as part of a larger collection amassed by a relative of the former's owner's during the early 1930's while touring France. Many items had dates from the early 30's. All cards and box are very good with no errant marks and nice crisp clean corners and paper. Each scene is tinted a very handsome green to match the attractive original box. A few scenes show mountains and the countryside, but most display churches, monuments, hotels and other buildings in the areas listed above in the title. Includes a few interior shots of statuary. Bearing Gifts From the Seven Seas (National Geographic Catalog 1928) Washington D.C, National Geographic Society 1928 Soft Cover Very Good Charming graphics and nice clean condition make this vintage catalog a worthy addition to an ephemera collection. It's printed in black on cream paper with a stapled binding and has 22 pages of books, panoramas (framed and unframed), and maps "for old and young". Each offering is accompanied by a small photo, plus the price, and each page is also decorated with small drawings. There is an unused order blank bound in at the center which shows a small bit of rust to staples, but otherwise catalog is without fault. This order blank is attached with staples showing so it could easily be removed, but it interrupts a two-page spread and has additional advertising on each side! A sampling of offerings include Horses of the World by Major Gen. William Harding Carter with original oil paintings by Edward Herbert Miner; and a sepia photogravure of a Romanian girl both unframed and framed. A small gem! Price:

Gold Medal Flour Cook Book Minneapolis Washburn-Crosby Co. 1917 Soft Cover Very Good Wraps, Good Amazing what just one primary color and a mix of neutral shades can produce when it comes to graphic art. This turn-of-the-century cookbook filled with recipes for using the flour we still recognize today by its tell-tale orange label is just wonderful -- it even still has unused coupons at the back for cookbooks to be sent to friends. While the graphics are what catch the eye, the recipes aren't bad either and run the gamut from baked goods to entrees and meats. All are clearly laid-out with the list of ingredients at the top followed by the instructions as is done today. So often in old cookbooks things can be a bit vague, but with this one you can actually go into the kitchen and create a meal. The book measures 8"x11" and has 47 pages. The brown cover shows wear and the old paper is soft, but it still has much life to live if gently cared for. The cover has pulled away from the bottom front staple, but the pages and back cover are securely fastened throughout. With the exception of a bit of soil to edges of first page, the rest of the pages are remarkably clean and nice. Altogether a lovely find. Price:

Savoring Silver Lake; Recipes and Reveries Silver Lake, Ohio The Martha Mary Gild, Church in Silvr Lake, United Church of Christ 2007 0979766605 Hard Cover Fine No DJ, as Issued 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall This is an especially nice church cookbook -- at first glance I thought it must be one published by the Junior League which is noted for its excellent design. But it's the product of the Martha Mary Guild of the Church In Silver Lake, Ohio United Church of Christ. It's fashioned exactly like the old Betty Crocker binder style cookbooks of the 70's, but with an interior spiral to lie flat. The cover, as well as inside the cover, is sepia toned vintage photos showing off the lake as it was in times past. The book is clean as a whistle and very giftable. Inside you'll find lots more sepia vintage photos, plus such goodies as spice roasted Asian pear with gorgonzola-marscapone fluff, ice cream french toast, Bunratty Folk Park scones from Bunratty Castle in Ireland, Lenanese lentil soup with rice, chicken rolls in praline glaze, and beef and Guiness stew. And we didn't even GET to dessert! Price:

The Illustrated London News, May 22, 1954 London The London News 1954 The Welcome Home Number Soft Cover Very Good Good-plus Folio - over 12" - 15" tall Very nice magazine -- gorgeous cover graphic and in overall quite respectable condition. But it is tightly bound and contents are pristine. Royal watchers everywhere will delight in this issue deciated solely to Queen Elizabeth's return to the Motherland following her six month journey around the world. The Proper Use of the Kohler of Kohler Electric Sink - Diswasher Kohler, Wisconsin Kohler 1928 Soft Cover Good Scarce ephemera item, as the Kohler electric sink was a product ahead of its time. It was introduced in 1926 as an early dishwasher, but failed to catch on, as few people had enough hot water in their homes to operate it. The booklet shows light exterior dampstain at spine and over to covers. Visiible at front only at inside. At white back cover there a light stain which is also visible on the blank pages at inside back. The rest is unscathed. Great graphic art at face -- bold orange trimmed in black with a pretty young housewife with bobbed hair and a bowl of apples standing in front of a kitchen sink fitted with the apparatus. Technical drawings show parts and operation and text offers step by step instructions for operation and care. Ads at back for plumbing fixtures and the special Cleanser to use with the electric sink which had to be ordered through the plumber! Booklet has 15 pages and measures 6"x8-1/2" Price:
