Book is clean and tightly bound with no foxing. Boards show wear primarily to crown and tail, but no fraying or loss of cloth. Gilt bright to face and book is tightly bound with no foxing. Both fold-out maps present and both have crisp paper with no tearing at folds. One is in full color. Book measures a diminutive 5"x7-1/2" and has 242 pages. A history of Boston which covers the founding of the town, the rise of both church and state, the defense of the charter, King Philip's War and the loss of the charter, life under the British Crown, life under the Providence Charter, the capital of the province, the stirrings of revolution, the Revolutionary War, Federalist Boston, and Boston as a city.
