Book itself is clean as a whistle inside and out with no names or writing. Very tiny bump to bottom front corner of handsome burgundy boards only fault. To find this one with a dustjacket is not easy, but here we have one, albeit a bit tattered. Chipping to corners and crown and tail of sunned spine and edgetears primarily to both upper and lower edges of back. Has been placed in protective mylar for safekeeping. An interesting retrospecitve by a leading chemist of the day who offers an analysis of of how the world has been, and will continue to be, bettered by science. Some of his topics include the contribution of science to manufacturing, chemistry as an investment, the trend of devleopment, the romance of carbon, fuel today and tomorrow, the chemical industry, misapplied chemistry, and the Fifth Estate. 287 pages. Indexed.
