Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. First Edition Stated. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Beautiful, clean copy of a play for children based on a classic Norwegian folk tale. Dustjacket has not been price-clipped and looks most handsome in protective mylar. Nancy Willard's work is always charming and quirky and this book is no exception as she relates the tale of a young prince who is rescued by the woman he loves just before he marries a troll with a nose three feet long and a personality so scaly and terrible that poison ivy falls from her hair. The wedding cake wasn't exactly a confectioner's delight either -- gold nuggets baked in sea slime and frosted with diamonds and broccoli!
