Very, very nice copy of a handsome book. Tightly bound and clean as a whistle inside and out with just minimal wear at corners and corner edges of spine. Brown boards sport bright, crisp gilt at edges of front board, and crisp gilt wreath with Milton's name inside. In addition to the poems, there is a biography of Milton by William Vaughn Moody. Nice rendering of the poet at frontis covered with clean tissue. What makes this book so special, aside from its beauty, is its provenance. Attractive, classically designed bookplate at front pastedown is printed with the name of George Gehring Marshall, president of Marhsall Drug in Cleveland. Marshall is also well-known for his amazing collection of rare botanicals, currently housed at the Dettrick Medical History Museum at Case Western Reserve University since 1946.
