Skinner, Skippy Skippy's Secret Service Society Life Membership Certificate in Original Mailing Envelope Minneapolis: General Mills Inc. Soft Cover. If you're old enough to remember Skippy Skinner, a General Mills cereal character from the 1930's, you know he wasn't exactly the poster boy for "The Power of Positive Thinking. This unusual offering consists of a large manila mailing envelope with Skippy's name and address printed at upper left. Recipient's name and one-line address clearly visible, as is postal permit at upper right. Inside is the main portion of Skippy's "Winner's All" Wheaties Score Card which required would-be memebrs to keep track of 15 days of Wheaties eating and send it to General Mills. The company kept the bottom portion and sent back the colorful top portion which measures 10x9" On the front are the instructions for joining flanked by a series of small pictures showing children performing various athletic feats. On the back is the Skippy Pledge to get plenty of sleep, take care of smaller people and animals, tell the truth, wash one's self "all over" and various other righteous things. Also included is a four page leaflet which confers lifetime membership. Inside this you'll find a secret code to use when writing messages and on the back a secret handshake with descriptive drawing.
