1972 Cadillac Owner's Manual; 1972 Cadillac Emissions Control Systems (In Original Plastic Holder)
1 1972 Cadillac Owner's Manual; 1972 Cadillac Emissions Control Systems (In Original Plastic Holder)
Detroit, Michigan Cadillac Motor Car Division 1971 Soft Cover Good-plus in Good-plus Holder
If you're restoring an old car there's nothing like the original manual to tuck into the glove compartment. Here we have not only the manual, but also the accompanying booklet about the car's emission control systems and their required maintenance and warranty information. Both measure 5" tall by 8" long and fit into their original blue plastic holder. The owner's manual shows some rubbing to blue cover and a small stain to side of textblock which can be seen on the very edge of some pages inside. The emissions book is quite good with a light ring stain from a glass at back Overall, both are still quite respectable. Manual has 84 pages and is illsutrated with black and white photos, charts and drawings. The emissions booklet has 15 pages and is illustrated with drawings.

The World Famous Great Gatsby's Antique Auction June 6th-7th, 1997 (Frank Loyd Wright's Personal Car)
6 The World Famous Great Gatsby's Antique Auction June 6th-7th, 1997 (Frank Loyd Wright's Personal Car)
Atlanta, Georgia Great Gatsby's 1997 Soft Cover Very Good Folio - over 12" - 15" tall
Fabulous over-sized auction catalog filled with rare and beautiful items, all of which are pictured in full color. Measures 10-1/2"x12-1/2 and is clean and tightly bound with just a few spots of wear at spine, none of which compromises its integrity. The former owner's mailing label is on the reverse. This particular catalog is noteworthy due to the sale of Frank Lloyd Wright's personal car, a 1956 Aztec Red Mercedes Gull Wing designed especially for him after he redesigned a New York City car dealership which has since been demolished. The opening bid was to have been $300,000 and Jay Leno was one of many collectors eyeing it, but, try as I may, I cannot find the gavel price. Catalog has 46 pages.

Studebaker Cars Catalog Big-Six and Special-Six Models (1924), No Author Stated
11 No Author Stated Studebaker Cars Catalog Big-Six and Special-Six Models (1924)
South Bend, Indiana; Detroit, Michigan; Canada The Studebaker Corporation of Americ 1924 Soft Cover Very Good 4to - over 9
What an elegant presentation for the 1924 models of Studebaker cars. Beautiful photography and detailed descriptions of all models. The pages are made of quality coated paper and look very attractive with a light green background and ruled edges. The catalog measures 7-3/4" x 10-3/4" and has 28 pages. The green cover has embossed gilt printing which adds to the beauty. The only defect is a light dampstain to lower edges at front and back of ark green cover. It's very subtle -- I didn't notice until I was photographing. It's very nice altogether with no problem to pages which are pristine.

Porsche Cars North America Inc 1997 Soft Cover Fine
This is an amazing offering, all purchased from the same collector, If you love cars, and especially the Porsche Boxster, this is a piece of automotive heaven. Everything is quality printed and illustrated in color. What we have here is the main booklet which measures 6"x9" and has 84 color illustrated pages. The second largest booklet in terms of page numbers (56 pages) shows the cars to their maximum. The other two measure about the same, but are smaller in content. The one without a title has 15 pages and folds out at back to show an array of color for the body, carpet and upholstery. Tequipment is a card fold-out showing accessories. There is almost a beautiful card showing the car with no message inside. Lastly, we have the results of three test drives conducted by AutoWeek, Road & Track, and Car and Driver. These are not taken from magazines -- they are glitzy stand-alone brochures. VERY nice package!!

The New Star Car (1924 Durant Car Co. of Michigan), No Author
14 No Author The New Star Car (1924 Durant Car Co. of Michigan)
Lansing, Michigan Durant Car Company of Michigan 1924 Soft Cover Good-minus
I usually swerve away from items that aren't at least in good-plus condition, but this one is truly rare. It's completely intact and I have mended all tears with archival tape. I also cleaned it with a document pad throughout which improved it greatly, but there's not much that can be safely done about the stubborn soil and light stains. The good news is all text is readable, all pictures are accounted for AND someone conveniently jotted down the prices for each car. The booklet measures 4"x5-1/2" and has 22 pages. Stamped at back with name and addess of an Akron, Ohio dealer. Willy Durant, founder of the Durant Car Company, had previously been the founder of General Motors. He designed the Star to compete with Ford's Model T and Chrysler's Maxwell/Plymouth. Star Cars were made by Durant from 1922 to 1928.

You'll Be Ahead with Nash 1946 Nash Brochure, No Author
15 No Author You'll Be Ahead with Nash 1946 Nash Brochure
Nash 1946 Soft Cover Very Good
This scarce brochure picks up on the theme Nash used in 1946 to draw attention to its latest models. I've seen several print ads in magazines with the same slogan. This brochure measures 5-1/2" high and 8-1/2" long, but opens to twice that size and then opens again to display on one side a bright colorful ad displaying all the new cars and measuring a whopping 17"x22". The previous owner underlined a few sentences touting all the extras that came with a Nash, but it's not glaring. There's much information on both sides. When folded back up the reverse shows the name of a Jacksonville, Florida dealership stamped under the Nash logo. Other than the underlaning there is just a small bit of wear along the fold at the top when its back to its smallest size. Overall a nice piece of automobile history.

This is an advertisement for Studebaker's power system which includes much information and illustration on a four page brochure. When opened the brochure measures 10" across and 12-1/4" tall. There is no date listed, but the two cars on the cover offer the clue to when manufactured. The front shows models Four and Six, both electrified to starters and and lights. Inside the brochure is an explanation of the power system as promised. The ad is very nice and clean and needed nothing done to it I also have another of these advertising brochures, about Studebaker's Electric System. The dealer who owned both was was J.H.
