Very nice, clean book, tightly bound. No names or writing other than former owner's handsome bookplate affixed to front pastedown. There are no bumps to boards, no creasing, and retains its very handsome dustjacket. Jacket has not been price-clipped and sports only minfor defects -- a couple tiny tears to top of spine and a tiny spot of wear to upper corners. Looks very nice in brand new mylar. Book includes separate eight page pamphlet titled "How I Happened to Write The Naked Risk."The story is based on an American tragedy which took place in New York City involving Horace Greeley, Edwin Booth and Henry Ward Beecher amogn others. Book measures6" x 8-3.4" and has 377 pages.

Looks handsome in brand new mylar.There's a small chip ro upper front corner next to spine. another smalll one to lower right corner and a bit of soil that proved imepervious to a document pad. This is historical fiction which begins in Hungary and ultimately to Wisconsin. The author also wrote "Wind Over Wisconsin" which we also have. Book has 514 pages

An historical novel which spans the reign of five Danish kings from King Han to Frederick II. Book was originally published in 1931. Its author was the winner of the Holberg Medal in 1940.

Very nice book, tightly bound and clean. There is a bt of rubbing to front floral design and a few little light spots on top and bottom of spine which still retains both bands. Gilt on spine is very readable too. This novel, Johnston's second, was a bestseller when ut came out in boos form in 1900 after having been serialzed in 1899 in the Atlantic Monthly magazine. In 1916 it was made into a movie. Book is illsutrated throughout with full page illustrations by several artists -- Howard Pyle, E.B. Thompson, A.W. Betts, and Emlen McConnell. Book measures 5-1/4" x 8" and has 403 pages.
