A small bit of rubbing to bottom front and a few flat creases at same area. Looks most handsome in brand new mylar. Book is illustrated with drawings throughout and also provides historical information. 317 pages.

Crisp clean book, almost like new. Very handsome pictorial laminated boards and an oversized format illustrated with photographs in black and white and facsimile documents throughout. Book measures 8-1/2" x 11-1/2" and has 658 pristine pages, including index. Crawford many not be well known, but he ran the legendary mint in Carson City for a decade from 1874 through 1885, presiding over 48 million coins which had a face value of 33 million dollars. Much information about Crawford, but also about the mint itself, the coins, and the public figures that surrounded him --Genera' Grant and President Hayes, among them.

At back there is also a Chinese-Korean-English dictionary of characters on Korean coins and charms.
