The American Revolution Through British Eyes; A Documentary Collection (Two Volume Set), Barnes, James J.; Barnes, Patience P.
20 Barnes, James J.; Barnes, Patience P. The American Revolution Through British Eyes; A Documentary Collection (Two Volume Set)
Kent, Ohio Kent State University Press 2013 Hard Cover NEW No DJ, as Issued
Crisp, BRAND NEW two volume set still in original publisher's shrinkwrap. Retails at two hundred fifty dollars. Set consists of letters written by British military officers and diplomats reporting directly to their superiors in London. Many were actively engaged in combat from 1775 until 1783 while others were colonial administrators traveling through North America assessing the progress of British troops. The letters begin with great optimism, but of course that dwindled as time passed. In fact, the books offer up surprising details such as the fact that King George III said on two occasions that he would abdicate the throne if the upstart Americans won. Over 1500 collective pages.
