Very nice, clean booklet, oversized at 8-1/2"x11" published for the 10th annual Rabbi Louis Feinberg Memorial Lecture given March 3, 1987. Only fault is small crease to lower corner.The author at this time was the Ludwig Rosenberger Professor of Jewish History and Civilization at the University of Chicago. An interesting look at the conversion of Christians to Judaism during this period. The author did extensive research in old Hebrew texts and documents, especially from the Cairo Genezah Includes a discussion of rabbinic Judaism implanted in Khazaria. 49 pages. Not often seen.

The only defect is a very small repaired tear to the lower back edge of the pastedown. I almost missed it. The dustjacket hes no tears or chips, just one small crease on the back cover. The book covers post- September 11th, the violence, and the resurgence of anti-Semitism. The text is compiled of letters, speeches and essays written from vantage points in Europe, Israel, and the United States. The book mesures 6-1/4" x 9-1/4" and has 393 pages.

Very scarce oversized booklet, quality printed on coated paper with many photographs. Plain khaki colored cover with embossed title. Clean as a whistle inside and out. Measures 9"x11-1/2" and has 38 pages. No date, but it's clearly from the late 1930's to the 40's, as that's when the The American Board of Missions to the Jews was the largest Christian mission proselytizing to Jews in America. They were set up on Throop Avenue in Brooklyn (though also had sattelite agencies in other states) due to the enormous Jewish population and the regular arrivals of Jewish refugees. Booklet explains their mission and their services. The founder was Leopold Cohn who died in 1937.

Today Schulman's papers are an important part of the Yiddish archives at the University of Pennsylvania library. Book discusses the theoretical basis for secular Yiddish schools, their history through the Revolutionary years, the impact of Boslhevism, development, curriculum, text books, decline, and WWII and the final liquidation of the schools. 184 pages.
