Very crisp, clean, beautiful books. Volume II shows a small abrasion from a former price ticker to front, but is otherwise without fault. Covers, pages, and page edges pristine. These are scarce and important books developed as part of the Seneca Curriculum Project in New York State to give voice to the tribal elders of the Indians of New York. Both books provide much material for understanding the culture and the history of the time, but volume II is especially interesting in that it zeroes in on the experiences of school children attending Caucasian schools during the early part of thr 20th century. Photo of each contributor, plus maps and drawings. Volume I is a first edition, volume II a second. 534 collective pages.

Book measures 6-1/2" x 9-1/2" and has 143 pages printed on qualiy coated paper. There are also many color photographs, including stunning two page, full page scenes. The book tells the story of the author's injuries in a horse accident. Though doctors told her to give up ridding, but instead she learned from the Lakotas of the healing powr of horses. Beautiful!

The book is a reprint of an original which was written by Margaret Irvin Carrington, an officer's wife who kept a journal of her stay in the outposts of the West. She jotted down notes on scenery and the inhabitants of Absaraka, which was located in present-day Wyoming, Montana, and the western Dakotas. The book measures 4-1/2" x 7" and has 354 pages including index. No bumps to boards, no names or wiring and clean and bright inside and out. There is also a company business card llaid-in.
