New York Penn Press 1940 No Edition Stated Soft Cover Very Good in Good Portfolio Elephant Folio - over 15" - 23" tall
Very large portfolio measuring 20" across x 16" tall and all six maps present. The maps are very clean with no tears and are beautiful with the lavish color of the periods. The portfolio itself had a few small tears, all of which I have repaired with almost invisible, non-browning archival tape at back. The maps are as follows: The Map of the World by N.J. Visscher who portrayed California as an island (17th c.); Map of Europe by Mercator from the famous Mercator Hondius Atlat of 1633; Map of Asia by the Blaeu Family, 1662; the Holy Land by Abraham Ortelius from the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, the first atlas, 1570; New Belgium, New England and Virginia by N.J. Visscher prior to the founding of Philadelphia; and Map of Canada by Guillaume P'Isle, the foremost French cartographer circa 1720. We will ship flat. DUE TO SIZE countries outside the U.S. will incur a higher shipping charge. Priority mail in the U.S. will likewise require extra postage.

Ambassade De France 1976 Soft Cover Fine in VG Folder
This is a very beautiful offering published by the Ambassade de France to commemorate 1776, the year of the first alliance between our two countries. In addition to the 22 prints there are facsimile reproductions of the first and last pages of the Treaty of Alliance 1778. The folder is plain and shows one spine tear that has been taped and two reglued small areas, but the best parts of all, the prints, are pristine. All are printed on a glossy paper of good weight and measure 10-1/2"x13-1/2". Some include portraits of important figures of the American Revolution, while others show military and naval scenes. Any, or all, would be lovely in an office, study, or library.

9 Zweybruck, Emmy Festive Motives Emmy Zweybruck(10 Silk Screen Prints)
New York American Caryon Company 1943 Soft Cover Portfolio Fine 4to - over 9
This is one of those plain Janes on the outside that like to surprise you when you open them. Sure enough, there's a large leaflet inside with information about the ten prints and silk screening in particular. Emmy Zweybruck was an Austrian artist (1890-1956). Here she shares prints by other artists too. But first she gives you a single page showing how a silk screen progresses. From there we have a festive designsby Emmy herself, but also prints from Nora Zweybruck, Teresa Kilham, Gisella Loeffler, Leonard Weisgard, Charlot Bowman, Mary Frances Burns, Laura Bannon and Amy Drevenstedt. Everything is crisp and clean. Not often seen.
