1 Starmore, Alice Tudor Roses
Mineola Park, New York Calla Editions 2013 Presumed First Hard Cover Fine, As New No DJ, as Issued Folio - over 12" - 15" tall
A stunningly beautiful book by Alice Starmore who has reigned as queen of knitting for many decades. This, however, is her most beautiful and unique, as it offers the knitter charming patterns inspired by the women (the roses) of England's Tudor dynasty which spanned 1485 to 1603 A.D.. Many color plates and 14 patterns with compete instructions. There's a also a chapter about the knitting and one about the jewelry worn by the models and made by the students of City of Glasgow College. Book measures 11" x 13" and has 176 pages printed on quality coated paper. This would make a lovely gift.
