Quantity: 1 available

Very nice, clean, tightly bound book covered with clear rigid plastic cover for safekeeping. Only fault is sunning to edges of wraps and most especially to spine. Light toning to page edges. Photo illustrated. Concerns the Akkadian tablets purchased shortly after WWI by Lt. Col. J.H. Patterson of the British Army of Occupation in Iraq, which he then dontated to the museum in 1925. The tablets are of historical and anthropological interest, as they were written in a dialect of the Old Akkadian language and date back over four thousand years. With the exception of two letters and some school tablets, the rest concern legal, business and administrative texts. 338 pages.
