This was published as a 20 volume set, of which we have just Volume XVII. It's a pleasing little book from the 19th century, undated, with a leather spine and corners. Boards are a seagreen paisley paper with matching endpapers. Though the leather has worn at all extremities it has done so in a pleasing fashion. Page edges bright yellow as per design and book tightly bound with clean, unfoxed pages. Wonderfully readable with half devoted to theatre anecdotes and the rest to music anecdotes. Stands alone. 178 pages, plus index.
