Stobart: The Rediscovery of America's Maritime Heritage

By: Stobart, John with Davis, Robert P/

Price: $100.00

Quantity: 1 available

A massive volume measuring 12-1/2" tall by 16" high in very nice, clean condition. The book itself is without fault -- no names or writing and no bumps to boards. The jacket has not been price-clipped and shows no egregious faults, but does have a small dark spot to plain blue back and a very small wear spot to upper back corner. It will arrive, however in brand new protective mylar. If you love the art of Stobart, or appreciate nautical art in general, this book is feast for the eyes. There are over 60 paintings in full color, as well as additional drawings by Stobart, all appearing for the first time in book form and accompanied by Stobart's story in his own words. The paintings are grouped geographically to include: The Port of Boston and Down East; The Great Whaling Centres (Nantucket, New Bedford and Martha's Vineyard); The Port of New York; Lost Ports of the East Coast (Hartford, Darien, Georgetown and Alexandria); The Great Hinterland Ports (Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Chicago); The Rival Ports (Charleston and Savannah); Ports of the Mississippi, the Missouri, and the Gulf; and West Coast Ports. A lovely book and very giftable. 209 pages.
