The Island of Sheep

By: Cadmus & Harmonia

Price: $250.00

Quantity: 1 available

Very scarce small book due to the fact that its author, the Scottish novelist, John Buchan and his wife Susan, refused to have it reprinted. Book is small, measuring just 5"x7-1/2"with handsomely decorated boards. No DJ. Two lower corners are worn through the paper and upper two have been reglued and are holding. Minor overall soiling to yellow cloth spine, primarily at back. Back cover also shows light soil to paper over board. Pages are very clean with no foxing and no names or writing. Book was written in the guise of a charming house party story while actually being a vehicle to transport the Buchans' post-war political views. It is not to be confused with Buchan's last novel of the same name written in 1936 featuring his famous character secret agent Richard Hannay which was as issued in the U.S. with the title The Man From Norland.
