A Desert Drama Being the Tragedy of the Karasko

By: Doyle, A, Conan

Price: $50.00

Quantity: 1 available

Nice, clean, solid book with handsome pictorial cover. Spine has faded a bit with a small loss of color publisher's name almost illegible at the bottom. Otherwise quite good. Minor wear to boards, but nothing egrigious and book is tightly bound with no crackign to hinges.. Contains 32 black and white plates. Book was serialized in the Strand Magazine in 1897 and published in book form in 1898. Story focuses on a group of holiday-makers on a boat to Egypt sailing up the River Nile when they wind up abducted by a band of Dervish warriors. As one might expect, British imperialism is held in high regard and Islam is considered highly suspicious, but as always Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's writing is compelling.
