This book is very clean and nice with no bumps to boards, no name or writing, no creasing, no remainder mark, and no loss of gilt to spine which is very bright. The dustjacket has one tiny defect, a bit of wear to top corner at the back which is almost invisible in a brand new mylar cover. The author says in the preface that his book has two b purposes: "1.) To deomonstrate how and why the Horn of Africa became one of the world's prime disaster areas, and 2.) an attempt to point the way to a better future for the peopole who live in the region and to recover from political and economic deterioration during the past two decades."Book measures 5-3/4" x 8-3/4" and has 248 pages which includes a center setion of photographs in black and white.
