This instruction manual caught my eye because I never heard of shadow stitching. From what I gather it is a technique which provides shadowing using stitches already known and the use of thinner thread and room for part of the mesh to show. If you google it you will see beautiful examples. This book is not written in and shows no other defects. It's bound with a plastic spiral and is in excellent condition. The book measures 6" x 8-1/2" and is 1/2" thick. the... View more info

I grew up in Akron, Ohio home of the old and beloved Saalfield Publishing Company. The company was known for books in boxes such as this one and also its licensing for Shirley Temple books. Saalfield had novels too for older kids, so we never grew out of them until we weren't kids anymore. This particular box is new to me, but I would have loved it. The box says it contains 20 playbooks for drawing, coloring, picture hunts, riddles, connect the dots, games and mazes. Twe... View more info
