Book Club edition. VG/VG. DJ displays a bit of wrinkling to back cover, but copy is clean, bright, tightly bound and overall quite nice. Romance. A pampered young woman makes a bad marriage to a fortune hunter, but finds a strange release from bondage when their car breaks down in the middle of the desert and he is killed by Mexican bandits. Though her life is spared, her freedom is not -- she is carried off to the mountains to be the mate of a powerful leader who eventually has her under his spell. But a search party is coming closer to take her away from true love.
