Very clean nice booklet with no spine crease and no names or writing. The diary was kept by Joshua DeWees who spent the Civil War with Co. D, 97th OVI IV Army Corps, Army of the Cumberland. The photo on the cover is his likeness and was provided by Donald DeWees, Joshua's grandson. The areas mentioned in the text include Murfreesboro; Missionary Ridge; Knoxville; Kennesaw Mountain; Peach Tree Creek; Chattanooga; Spring Hill, Tennessee; and Huntsville, Alabama. Booklet measures 7"x10 and has 97 pages plus a fold-out map at back.
