Howe's Historical Collections of Ohio in Two Volumes

Book Condition: Very Good

It's been a while since I've had a set of Howe's Historical Collections, a two volume set which is an Ohio classic. This one was published in 1900, which makes it an early printing, but not a first edition. As are many, this set is rebound in (brown) cloth with gilt printing to spines. The text is very clean with no marks or writing. Page edges are likewise clean, though toned and with a small odd stain on the bottom edge in the same place (see photo). Set includes the geography and geology of Ohio; mines and mining; public lands; and more, plus an historical look at each county in the state and its pioneers. Very useful for geneaology. 992 pages and Illustrated throughout. Henry Howe's history also inspired Pulitzer prize-winning author, Conrad Richter's trilogy.
