Conrad Richter is best known for his trilogy, The Awakening Land, with the three novels titled The Trees, The Fields and The Town. They began in 1940 and were done in 1950 and The Trees won the Pulitzer Prize.This book I have consists of eight short stories, all of which are all about early America and share the theme of love and violence. The book is clean and atractive with no names or writing, no bumps to boards , and no price-clip. A nice clean inked top edge in lpale orange as per design is a lovely extra. The only defect is a closed tear to soine, about an inch bove the edge.The stoiies are titled thus:The Rawhide Knot; Smoke Over the Prairie; The Flodo;The Simple Life; Early Americana; The Iron Shrine; As It Was In the Beginning; and The Dower Chest. The book measures 6" x 8-1/2" and has 205 pages. Book is covered in a brand new mylar cover.
