Very, nice, crisp, clean copy. Except for a small bit of wear at tail of spine and one tiny tear to bottom edge, this one is a gem. Very attractive cover art depicts the filming of a western movie. Articles include such topics as the Bikini atomic bomb test in the Marshall Islands, glider planes, Julian Fellows and his discovery of how to "stretch" coal further for home heating, coated glass for reflection reduction based on technology used on lenses during WWII; reforestation; a vee-shaped transatlantic passenger plane called a "flying wing"; the Tacoma Narrows Bridge; stuntmen in Hollywood westerns; technology and deep sea fishing fleets, drivng to the other Americas and more. Several other vintage issues from the 40's available.
