Singin' in the Rain Souvenir Book London Palladium 1983 Starring Tommy Steele

By: Steele, Tommy

Price: $20.00

Publisher: London, 1983

Seller ID: 25288

Condition: Very Good

An extravaganza of a souvenir book! Not only is it oversized at 9"x12" and filled with glorious stills from production numbers, but it also has a fold-out at the back which has four perforated postcards. Amazing that they're still intact, but they are. The program is marred only by spots of ege wear to the black cover and a small flat crease to the lower front corner. Very nice and a souvenir of the FIRST stage production ever. View more info

By: Stevens, Thomas Wood

Publisher: Chicago, The Art Institute of Chicago: 1922

Seller ID: 27190

This is a spectacular find -- gorgeous graphic art and nine tipped-in art works from the exhibition. Of those artists the one I recognized was C.A. Willimvosky who was an important Impressionist of the 20th century. He died in 1971. The show was huge -- 696 works in these categories: applied art, architecture, graphic arts, painting, and sculpture. The catalog also includes a narrative entitled The Manuscript on Gray Charcoal Paper by Thomas Wood Stevens who appears to have corrected errors of fact in a submission by an unknown sender. The catalog has some issues -- edge wear, wear to both end... View more info

A humorous book by the English cartoonist, Stil, who entertained thousands of Yanks at the American Red Cross Service Club at Mardon Hall, Exeter during WWII. The goal of the booklet was to "poke some good-natured fun at some of "the Boys" whose caricatures have given much pleasure to families throughout our country." The booklet measures 7"x9-3/4" and contain 19 full page comics. An interesting look at humor in the midst of the rubble of war. Booiklet shows a bit of soil to cover that proved impervious to cleaning, but is clean inside and tightly bound with no names o... View more info

Remarks of Mr. Tallmadge In Defence of The People of New York Against the Charge of Bank Influence in the Result of Their Election

By: Tallmadge, Nathaniel Pitcher

Price: $75.00

Publisher: Washington D.C., Printed at the Madisonian Office: 1838

Seller ID: 27587

Condition: Good

Fascinating to see current issues reflected in a pamphlet almost 200 years old. Booklet shows foxing to edges on front and on all pages save back cover where it is foxed primarily in upper right corner. The booklet is sewn and all pages are accounted for. The yapped edge at the bottom of the cover is mostly intact , but the rest of these overhangs have either fallen off, or were clipped. Their loss does not impinge in any way on the text. The booklet was published shortly after Tallmadge delivered the speech in the U.S. Senate on February 8, 1833 in response to Mr. Hubbard of New Hampshir... View more info

Beautiful booklet with a vast amount of information in 28 pristine pages, plus many examples in both black and white and full color. Frakturs are commonly equated with Pennsylvania which is apt, but not the only place where this venerable art thrived. An uncommon item, published in tandem with the opening of the dark opera, Alice, which is based on Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The lyrics probe not the story as much as how it pertains to its author. Was not intended for children. Inside front cover (see photo two) is a small drawing signed by its artist. I can't decipher the first namel, but I do believe the last name is Zinn. I immediately thought of David Zinn who does have a history with the Thalia Theatre, but I can't say for sure that this is right. Research shows no account of him having anything to do ith the set design for t... View more info
