These little German calendars are exquisitely rendered -- the art is so charming. It's in the GERMAN LANGUAGE, but is so pleasing to the eye that art trumps comprehensiion for non-German speakers. It's a small, very thin book which measures 5-1/2"x7-3/4" and is illustrated with tiny illustrations throughout. The pages aren't numbered, but I counted 22. View more info

The story of handmade lace has always interested me. Those who wore it were rich - those who made it went blind. At one point it was so valuable that dogs were relieved of their fur which was replaced with a fur "coat" that was stuffed with lace so it could be smuggled. I doubt that story is in here, as the focus is on the exhibit which was held in 1984. This was a second printing in 1986. It covers needlepoint lace, bobbin lace, bobbin applique lace, machine lace and imitation lace, plus lace clothing. Booklet measures 8-1/2" x 11 with 42 pages. All photos are described at back. V... There is a such a childlike spirit in these lovely paintings -- a riot of color and here and there a tiny creature to be found. I am a bit puzzled by the title, but the essay about her at the front is titled "Fiona Rae: Good After Good." In all, there are 18 full page works in full color. The exhibit was held at the Pace Wildenstein Gallery from November 3 -- December 6, 2016. The catalog is clean and tightly bound with no names or writing. Only fault is creasing to lower right corner of cover. View more info
