This is an early program for the opera season of 1912-1913 held at the Auditorium Theatre of Chicago. Other than a few corner creases that I have pressed flat, the program is clean and bright with no names or writing. The current opera was Thais and the program includes its story, plus a list of others past and future, photos of opera stars, and lists of box holders and the nights they were to be present. As always, local ads abound, but these are quite graphically appealing. The program also includes a separate seating chart (see photo) with the various prices of seats. Program measures 7"x10... Great graphic on this vintage Rose Bowl parade program dated January 1, 1951. The University of Michigan Wolverines tussled with The Oregon Beavers that day and the Wolverines not only took the game handily with a score of 34 to 7, but Wolverine full-back Mel Anthony was named Rose Bowl player of the Game. The program is almost a magazine. It measures 8-1/2"x11" and has 98 pages, all tightly bound. there is one small tear to outer back edge, but I mended it with non-browning almost invisible archival tape. Fun gift for a Rose Bowl (or Wolverines) fan. View more info

Wonderful die-cut brochure advertising the charming town of Marietta, Ohio circa 1930's The booklet is a die-cut shaped like a log cabin, a replica of the old Land Office Building. This opens to reveal twenty photographs of the city's charms with explanatory captions. Very clean and nice with just a small crease to the base of the chimney at front and back covers. Scenes in the booklet include, but are not limited to: Campous Martius pioneer fortification, Lookout Point, Picketed Point, the first settlement at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers; Mound Cemetery, Marietta College,... This is a thing of beauty! Very large travel book which measures 11" x 12-1/2". It's bound with cording and has a glorious scene in full color on face with a full compliment drawing of Chief Red Cloud at back cover. The book is clean and tightly bound, but does show some flat creasing and rubbing to card cover. Inside are a panorama of pages and scenes all devoted to the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Each is captioned and there is a statistical chart at front. Unpaginated, but I counted 36. View more info

Love racing? This program derives from a difficult race with lots of rain, fog and cold air with only intermittent sun. The British RULED, claiming four out of five with only one American, Dan Gurney, in the top five at fourth place and 19 points. Jim Clark of the UK at 54 points won the day. The program is great -- really clean and nice with an additional sheet of Latest Information news laid-in. Great action photos in black and white and related ads. Program measures 8-1/4"x10-1/3". Very uncommon trade catalog and very graphically appealing. It's clean inside and out with just light wear to edges of cover. The only real fault is the spine having been neatly and discretely repaired along its length with clear tape. The catalog is tightly bound throughout, measures 6"x9", and has 32 pages with additional products on reverse of back cover. Numerous photographs throughout and an unused order blank laid-in. Products include items for the border patrol, plus fancy holsters for many types of guns and knives, handcuff cases, belts, including "Buscadero" and cartridge belts, scab... View more info

This is a very handsome oversized advertising booklet produced to explain the products, facilities and services which made the company a front runner in the industry. Both the photography (color) and black and white graphics are large and informative, but they are also artistic. Seldom do you see industrial art so eye-catching. The booklet contains text and there is a large map at back showing the company's footprints in the U.S.A., Western Europe and Latin America. Measures 11" square. There is no date. Not often seen. As you can see, the cover shows dampstain, but fortunately it appears much less on the blue endpapers inside the catalog. I might have passed it by if I didn't know how hard it can be to find these old school catalogs which are interesting and also helpful with family genealogy. There is also some foxing on the photo fold-out at the front and at the back of the book -- anywhere that the paper is coated. The bulk of the catalog is NOT on coated paper though, so it is showing no foxing. This school is still in operation and traces its beginnings to the 19th century. The catalog provides the na... This one is rather scarce, so it was a lovely surprise to not only find it, but to also find a color postcard tucked inside. The card shows the parade on Main Street in downtown Rochester The card has been used and is postmarked 1909. There is some creasing to the corners, but card is really quite handsome in its plastic sleeve. This is a hefty, significant program -- more book than booklet! But the event was so enormous it's worthy of the paper used to print it. Saengerfest was a national song festival which consisted of five concerts held over three days to accommodate the HUGE crowds. Twenty-six trains were charted just to bring in the thousands of PARTICIPANTS. The Cleveland schools also contributed singers. The event was also a commemoration of the centenary of the death of Beethoven. The program measures 7-3/4" x 10-1/4" and is very tightly bound with complete spine strip. This album is so attractive and in very clean, nice condition. There's a little wear to the top edge at the front near the spine, but it's minor. The album was published following Pearl Harbor, so it dates around 1942 to 1943. The album contains fifty attractive blue tinted cards which children could paste in as they received them. I can't seem to find how they were distributed, but they appear to have been a Hi-Speed Gas Stations premium for customers' children who joined the Victory Club. This album shows all 50 photos, each of which takes an entire page. The album measures 9-3/4" across and... View more info

Small brochure measuring 5"x9". Very clean both inside and out with no tears to thin blue paper cover. Only fault is flat crease down the middle from having once been folded and light fade to same at front only. Twelves pages offer info on the constititution, the proceedings of the event, and church statistics etc., a treasury report, and letters from the churches. The Dublin mentioned in the title of this booklet has nothing to do with Dublin, Ireland. View more info

It's interesting that in the eighth year of the Cleveland Academy the school still sent a circular rather than a catalog to students and would-be students. The other interesting thing is that the senior and middle grade classes were populated with girls only. The junior class and the preparatory class, however, welcomed both girls AND boys, though girls dominated. Example --the junior class had 44 girls and nine boys. Members of the graduating class were Laura Barnett, Helen P. Briggs, Fannie A. Fuller, Nettie Hall, Grace A. Kingsley, Cora Kingsley, Gussie Marchand and Ada W. Simonds. The circ... View more info

This is a very interesting booklet advertising contemporary windows for architectural builds. Two pages have new information stapled over the material beneath it. The original was also red X'd, but you can still read that too (see photo). Actually it's a good thing because it shows company momentum.T he drawings are really attractive and all eight pages (not counting the x-d ones) are filled with it. The cover photo is the work done on the Firestone Research Laboratory in Akron, Ohio. Rather scarce. View more info
