Lovely, postally unused collection of 20 vintage postcards in their original green box which is bordered in gilt with black printing to face only. There is no date, but they appear to be from the 1930's. We also believe this to be true because they were purchased as part of a larger collection amassed by a relative of the former's owner's during the early 1930's while touring France. Many items had dates from the early 30's. All cards and box are very good with no errant marks and nice crisp clean corners and paper. Each scene is tinted a very handsome green to match the attractive original bo... View More...

These books are exquisite nestled in a bright red slipcase. The boards are white and the jackets are colorful and beautiful with the works of Matisse. The only fault is a couple tears to top edge of the spine. It was taped on both back and front, but I placed it in a mylar cover which helped quite a bit. The second volume has a few tiny tears at the same place, but it was not taped. I used a bit of archival tape on the back only. The books and the slipcase are clean and attractive. There isa great deal to read and hundred of picturesto enjoy in both black and white and color. The author took ... View More...

There's a lot of reasons to love this exhibition catalog. First of all, the text is in ENGLISH. Secondly, its an exhibition catalog replete with color and sepia art printed on coated paper. Then there's the fact that it's brand new and has pretty two-tone blue maps printed inside both covers. What's remarkable though is the art depicting fireworks from 1644 which had pyrotechnics for the King's Feast on Place de Palais in August, 1644 to the marriage of Napoleon I and the Archduchess Marie-Louise in 1810. The Booklet measures 8-1/4" x 10-1/2" and has 77 pages. The exhibition spanned October 11... View More...

Book is not as perfect as one would like, but is clean and tightly bound and most resepectable, especially given how seldom it is seen with its colorful, attractive jacket. The jacket has darkened uniformly and shows wear to all extemities with chipping to corners and spine. Has not been price-clipped and is handsome in brand new mylar cover. Very handsome book, part of a larger set, but a stand-alone title in excellent condition -- even retains its scrace blue dustkacket. This shows two 1" closed tears to top front edge, but are hardly visible in brand new mylar. The dark blue boards have a moire appearance and the paste-on title box at spine is crisp and clean with no chips. Top edges are gilded and side pages rough-cut. Book is a limited edition of 1000 numbered copies of which this is #516. Books are illustrated with images printed on Japan paper. These are photogravures, but the portrait at frontis is in color.
