Dustjacket shows light soiling and several small edgetears, mostly to crown of spine, but is most attractive in brand new protective mylar. Laminated novena prayer card laid-in. Attractive cream colored pages with brown printing. Reflections on the writings derived from the journals of St. Francis of Assisi to be used as daily meditations. Unpaginated. View More...

Beautiful books -- handled very carefully by previous owner. Both volumes are clean and bright with no names or writing and no bumps to boards. Both nestle happily in their sturdy blue slipcase. The books are illustrated throughout with drawings and have bright orange inked exterior edges. These are prtistine, as are pages. Nice enough to be a gift. View More...

Crisp and clean inside and out. Has not been price-clipped and dustjacket protected by brand new mylar cover. No names ro writing, no bumps to boards, no tears or chips. Measures 10-1/2" across and 10" high. Robert Vickrey's nuns are classically attired, but their depictions are, as the artist himself states, rendered with lyrical realism. His focus is on the head covering of the habits of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul -- the white wing-like form known as the cornette. Though the cornette is no longer worn in the modern world, it appears here in multiple creative ways. Vickre... View More...
Oddly enough, this is a rather hard to find magazine even though it encompassed alumni from all the federation's colleges in the United States and Canada. The magazine was published just twice a year. There are two ads at front, a color one for Gorham Silver and a rather plain one for Tiffany's. All others ads are at the back. This issue devotes a great many pages to "our saint", Saint Magdalena Sophia. Articles cover her sainthood, her life, her visit to Reidenberg, her life as an educator, and her supplementary works. Other articles include memoirs, a trip to Arcadie, the lost art of letter ... View More...
Very nice, clean booklet commemorating the dedication of the new Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Only fault is a flat crease to lower front corner of cover. Oddly, there is no reference to the exact town in Florida where it's located, but there is a photo of the presiding Bishop of Orlando, Thomas J. Grady. This is an exceptional keepsake thanks to the many photographs, including some in full color, plus lots of photos of the parishioners in action. There's also history and a roster of the patrons who helped make the new church possible. As always with these momentos, there are ads at the back of ... View More...
April 9, 1961 was the day the new Catholic church building, St. Therese Little Flower of Jesus, was dedicated in Cincinnati, Ohio. The booklet serves as a souvenir and is quite substantial with much history and information about the church from its simple beginning in 1926 to its lovely new location. It also offers many photographs of parishioners and clergy, as well as the nuns who worked at the school. As is the norm, there are also ads which helped finance the book, but some these of these are from the designers and artisans who made it happen. There is also an extensive list of patrons and... Very handsome booket inside an outer portfolio, published in a very small print run of just 200 copies as a benefit for the Cathedral of Scala. Text is entirely in Italian and is a monograph about the Blessed Gerard and his work at the Hospital of Jerusalem. Fra Gerard was born in Tuscany in 1174, became a knight and was ultimately captured in a crusade. He was eventually set free and worked at the Jerusalem Hospital, but spent most of his life as a pious Catholic hermit. The booklet is clean and nice and measures 6-1/2"x9" with 19 pages and two drawings. View More...
Very handsome book which appears to be written in the Dutch language. Boards are half leather with marbeled paper and matching marbled endpapesr. Gilt to top page edges. Wear to leather at all extremities, but book is very clean and tightly bound with two interesting inscriptions. Unfortunately, we have no idea what they say, but the first appears on the half title page and is dated 1944. The second is on the full title page, across from which is a photograph of Pope Pius XII, and dated 1941. The first two words, likely a name, are very close in proximity to the LN logo of the publisher and be... View More...
Red boards with bright gilt to spine are pristine -- no bumps and no soiling. Also no names or writing, and snow white pages inside. Paper of jacket is crisp and there are no tears -- just a bit of toning to white paper, predominately at spine, plus a small mark to spine. Retains original British price at endflap. Will arrive protected by brand new mylar cover. Essays and addresses originally composed between 1904 and 1922. There are ten in all with a Roman Catholic perspective covering such topics as the idea of God, morals and religion, suffering and God, and the Catholic contribution to re... View More...
