Tightly bound and very clean with nice beveled edge to both boards. Brown cloth shows small bit of wear to corners and to crown and tail of spine, but no cracking to hinges, either fornt or back. These books are exquisite nestled in a bright red slipcase. The boards are white and the jackets are colorful and beautiful with the works of Matisse. The only fault is a couple tears to top edge of the spine. It was taped on both back and front, but I placed it in a mylar cover which helped quite a bit.
