Very nice, clean book with no names or writing and no bumps to boards. Pages clean and tightly bound. Only defect ro book itself is a poem about books printed on a sticker that resembles a bookplate and is affixeds to thefront free endpaper (see photo). The jacket is likewise clean, but shows chipping to top of spine and to upper right corner at front. Has also been price-clipped. A page turner mystery which involves danger and is set against the backfrop of the Christmas holiday. 184 pages. View More...
Book is clean and tightly bound with no names or writing. No dustjacket, but boards are cute and Christmas green. Looks like a children's book, but upon closer inspection proves to be a humorous take-off on Clement Moore's famous "The Night Before Christmas" -- with a few winks for grown-ups! The color and fabric of a Panamanian holiday shines through, as do the Panamanian people from the lottery vendors and C.Z. police to the commissary vendors and soldiers and sailors. Even the cockroaches and termites get a nod! This WAS 1935 though, so don't expect it to be P.C.. Nonetheless it's good natu... View More...

Enchanting cover art in bold primarly colors shows four children looking out a window at the snowy night with a church in the distance. There's no date, but the previous small owner (thankfully) wrote his name and the year 1925 on the top of the front free endpaper. Book is clean as a whistle and tightly bound. Faults include cormer wear, some edge chipping and rubbing to cloth of spine. Filled with drawings, stories and poems, many of which are Christmas themed. Other topics include the love of God and mothers, a room of one's own, country life, and the importance of kindness, but also of fu... View More...
This is a charming little book, the kind that small people are wont to "decorate" and/or relieve of its pages. Fortunately, all pages are here and there is no scribbling. The story is cute, but the art of Margaret Evans Price is the show stealer. An interesting sideline is this fact -- while being am illustrator, Evans and her husband were creating a toy company known to this day as Fisher-Price. The booklet measures 7-1/2" x 10-1/2" and has just 14 counted pages. Every other page is either in full color or in blue and orange. The booklet measures 7-1/2"x10-1/2". View More...
Magazine is clean and tightly bound with browning to spine of blue wraps. Spine strip completely intact save one small chip at very bottom. Pages pristine -- no foxing and no names or writing. Only other faults are a tiny loss of tip to upper right corner of cover and a small repair at top of spine by me with non-brownig n archival tape. Among the topics covered in this issue are the Christmas Good-Spell, the Christ Child, Facing God, Individual Liberty and Spiritual Co-operation, The Human Race An Organism and more. Metaphysics with a Christian emphasis. Measures 6-1/2"x9-1/2". Oth... View More...
This oversized magazine (11-1/2" x 16-1/2") is gorgeous and so gently kept it's amazing. The little sticker you see on the front is the mailing label. The magazine is lovely -- and tightly bound with no names or writing. A special Christmas treat inside is a full page black and white artwork titled The Sugar Plum Tree rendered by artist, Maxwell Parrish. There's information on decorating church, house and table; tips on how to have an old-fashioned Christmas; a Christmas story titled The Winnipeg Wolf by the popular Ernest Thompson Seton; songs; book recommendations for Christmas for a... Book is very clean and nice with a handsome green pictorial front board showing a bucolic scene set in a cicle surrounded by an ivy wreath. Book shows a small flat crease to lower back corner and verys slight wear to bottom front corner at spine. Former owenr's name and address is penciled on the front free endpaper, but could easily be removed. The author is perhaps best known for her three volume set A Child's Own Book of Verse, but this collection is a delight as well as it's a compendium of holiday works from many authors. Part I contains stories children can read themelves, Part II is com... View More...
