A spectacular design book which is not often seen. The condition shows some exterior glitches -- edge wear in spots, a chip to outer paper at outer edge of back cover and two corner creases, also at back. One is superficial, the other I have sustained with non-browning archival tape on the reverse side. This is a large book measuring 12" square with a sturdy wire binding. There is no date, but there was an easy clue in plain sight. The mayor listed inside was Jerome P. Cavanaugh who left office in 1969. Prototypes re for Includes prototype designs for the Institute of Arts, Hall of Man, Mu... View More...

Very clean, nicely kept magazine marred only by a small abrasion to outer front edge, a small chip to side of one page (not affecting text) and creasing to the same page which has been pressed flat in the book press by me. As you can see, the cover caricature is Frank Lloyd Wright, the star of this issue. His accompanying article is entitled "How Frank Lloyd Wright Got His Medal". To give you an idea of the tone the teaser reads, "He behaved rather like Moses with a quart of skimmed milk and an aggressive gall bladder ...." Another story of note is "The Guns at Falaise Gap", a first person acc... View More...
Gorgeous slick magazine that's oddly not seen that often. Glorious color photography prevails throughout and articles focus on the art itself rather than the how-to. Among the many topics are these: stained glass conservation, the architectural glass of Elizabeth Devereaux, contemporary Canadian architectural glass, the work of Leslie Perlis, Prairie stained glass, glass spheres and columns, Kolo Moser windows, the marriage of metal sculpture and leaded glass, and much more. Magazines are clean and tightly bound with just a small bit of wear to front corners of the green one (winter). View More...
